Atsushi Shindo (新堂敦士 Shindō Atsushi) is a singer/songwriter who is known for his creation of music for the Pop'n Music line of Bemani games. He has also written songs for artists such as Hello! Project's Melon Kinenbi. Having signed a five-year contract with Konami (which has recently expired), his songs are mainly folk songs with the genre "power folk".

However, all the songs in the game were deleted due to the plagiarism controversy.

[edit] Controversy over plagiarism

A large amount of plagiarism had come to light since about 2002.[1] The songwriter's activities were stopped as the music was examined in 2004.

Because the incidences had been covered up, nothing was revealed until several songs were reported as being plagiarized.

The website was upped again in October, 2005.

The songwriter has not explained the situation and has not apologized at all for the plagiarism.
