As of 2001 India census,[2] Atrauli had a population of 43,845. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Atrauli has an average literacy rate of 45%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 62% of the males and 38% of females literate. 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.
