Atom Bomb Blues is a BBC Books original novel written by Andrew Cartmel and based on the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. Published in late 2005, it features the Seventh Doctor and Ace. It is currently the last published Past Doctor Adventure to be issued by BBC Books, the company having decided in 2005 to focus on a new series of books featuring the Ninth and, starting in 2006, Tenth Doctor. It has not yet been announced whether any further Past Doctor Adventures will be published by BBC Books' new owners, Random House.
Like all Doctor Who spin-off media, the way the plot fits in to the ongoing story of television series is open to interpretation. See Whoniverse#Inclusion and canonicity
