The so-called "Potter House" mentioned on this page is actually the "Ponder House" named after its builder, Ephraim Ponder. The building has been frequently misidentified, probably dating to 1864. Please note the following websites:

Following the war, Ponder built an exact replica of the Atlanta house in Thomasville, Ga., where it still stands as a restaurant called the Ponder House. A son of one of Ponder's slaves, Henry Flipper, became the first black man to graduate from West Point.
