Atlantogenata is a molecularly-defined mammal clade containing the cohorts or super-orders Xenarthra and Afrotheria. These groups originated and radiated in the South American and African continents, presumably in the Cretaceous. There is some genetic evidence of uniting the Xenarthra and Afrotheria, but morphologically most Afrotheres seem to be Ungulates.
