Atlantidae is a family of gastropod molluscs in the order Sorbeoconcha. They are sometimes called heteropods.
The shells are small, seldom as much as 10 mm in width, fragile, transparent, spiral, of planorbid shape, compressed into a sharp peripheral flange. The animal is capable of retracting into its shell.
