Atlantic Terminal Mall is a shopping mall located on Atlantic Avenue surrounded by Hanson Place, Fort Greene Place and Flatbush Avenue in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn, New York.

It is also across the street from the older Atlantic Center Mall[1] (via a small enclosed bridge from Target) which was developed by the same real estate company, Forest City Enterprises.[2] It is also an office building and part of the ticket office of the Long Island Rail Road's Atlantic Terminal, which has been been under the process of renovation since the mall was built. Parts of Atlantic Center Mall were also renovated to compete with the new mall.

[edit] Atlantic Terminal Urban Renewal Area

The mall is part of a large multi-year urban renewal project[3] in the Downtown Brooklyn area called the Atlantic Terminal Urban Renewal Area (abbreviated as ATURA). Also included are the original Atlantic Center Mall and the Atlantic Yards project, currently under construction.[4]

[edit] Layout & Anchors

The mall has 5 floors with the lower levels consisting of the LIRR and New York City Subway (technically in the basement).[5] It features major Anchor stores like Circuit City, Victoria's Secret, Men's Wearhouse, Bath & Body Works, The Children's Place, and most notably Target. 2 Starbucks are located on the property, one located in Target while the other is in the ticket office area of Atlantic Terminal. This is one of the few multi-level "Urban" Target department stores. To accommodate the multi-level design it utilizes escalators, elevators and a Vermaport, a specialized escalator for shopping carts
