Atlantic Archipelago

The Atlantic Archipelago or Atlantic Isles is an alternative term for the British Isles coined to avoid political controversy attached to the term. The term itself is relatively new but is one of several terms employed by authors[1] wishing to avoid British Isles, although it has been described as being one that "would provoke blank looks so far as most people are concerned."[2]
