Atlanta Streetcar
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Atlanta Streetcar, Inc. (ASC) is a non-profit organization with the mission to bring streetcars back to downtown Atlanta. The main goal is to put them on Peachtree Street, the city's main street, however a loop around downtown has also been added to the proposal. The main line would run from the south end of downtown, through Midtown, and to Buckhead, and is intended to relieve traffic congestion.
ASC's board members include the leaders of Georgia Tech and Georgia State University, MARTA, GWCC, Buckhead Community Improvement District, Buckhead Coalition, Underground Atlanta, Central Atlanta Progress, Woodruff Arts Center, and many local corporate business leaders as well.[1]
