- Sure thing. Be aware that I'm less active on Wikipedia these days, but you can always send me an email too. --Fang Aili talk 14:27, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

- I'd be happy to adopt you, although it looks like you've already had an adoption offer above. Both of us can adopt you if you want. Walton Vivat Regina! 16:25, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

- Yup, no problem. Two heads are better than one. :)
- As your potential adopter, my first comment/suggestion would be to use a more standard signature. Sign as Athangjain and consider putting in a link to your talk page. This makes it easier for people to contact you (one click instead of two). Cheers, Fang Aili talk 18:04, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Bhavarlal Jain
An editor has nominated Bhavarlal Jain, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bhavarlal Jain and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Jayden54Bot 19:01, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hello Athangjain. You can't copy information from other places on the 'net and put them on Wikipedia. These are usually copyright violations and must be removed. Cheers, Fang Aili talk 20:43, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately it is still a copyright violation. You just added a few words here and there. I don't mean to be harsh, but here's what I suggest: read everything you can about him and try to remember what you have learned. Two days later, write an article. You will likely write differently than your sources. This way the information is in your own words, and not a copyright violation. Make sense? --Fang Aili talk 03:15, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Signatures
About signatures, there's a lot of info at WP:SIG. But here's some quick directions:
- Go to "my preferences" (at the top right of the screen).
- In the signature box, insert User:Athangjain (talk)
- Make sure the "Raw signature" box is checked.
- Save.
That should do it. You can also play around (to a certain extent) with your signature. For example, I have my talk link raised a little, and green. The code looks like this:
User:Fang Aili <font color="green">talk</font>
Cheers, Fang Aili talk 16:26, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] re: Bhavarlal Jain
The facts in the article can be reorganized and worded differently so it's not a copyright violation. Even if it wasn't a copyvio it would need extensive work to improve it to an encyclopedic level. Wikipedia has several writing guides: check out How to write a great article for starters. --Fang Aili talk 16:47, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Jack Eldridge
i was just going through random articles when i came around this one " jack eldridge" just check it out . i dont think it is encyclopedic content. Athangjain 14:37, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm going to speedy-tag it. I could just delete it but I'd like another admin's opinion as well. --Fang Aili talk 16:27, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] How to link pages
When referring to a specific page, it's convenient if you link to it. Put the article name in brackets, like this. Cheers, Fang Aili talk 16:50, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Misraq Gashamo
What needs to be verified in this article? -- llywrch 20:14, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Karl Elieff
Please don't add a speedy delete request on an article just because the ProD has expired. After the prod has expired, an admin will take a look at it and decide to delete it immediately, keep it, or send it to WP:AFD. No extra action is needed for this, and the speedy delete tags should only be used in rather strict circumstances (see WP:CSD for more on this). It's not a big problem though, you obviously did it with the best intentions, but it's better if you don't do this. Fram 09:03, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- No problem! Fram 13:46, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] re: Bhavarlal Jain
This article has been edited. i hope its still not a copyvio. and how long is the Afd deletion discussion going to go on? Athangjain talk 13:48, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- I believe the copyvios have been removed or reworded into non-copyvios. Good work. :) AfDs run about 1 week (or more, depending on if it's backlogged). Based on the opinions so far, it looks like the article will be kept. Cheers, Fang Aili talk 19:27, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

this is just a view of "my watchlist" it looks something like this. i was just wondering what those numerical figures mean ? (-19) , (+3) , (+13 ) .. etc.

Athangjain talk 06:36, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure it means how many characters have been changed since the last edit. So (-19) would mean a net loss of 19 characters. They are somewhat useful because you can see how "big" the change was, but if one paragraph was changed to a paragraph of equal length, it wouldn't tell you that. It only just shows the size change. So still manually check edits on your watch list. --Fang Aili talk 12:41, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Check-in
Howdy Athangjain, how's it going? Looks like you've been inactive lately. Maybe you're on vacation. I've been pretty non-active on the wiki lately too, but I wanted to check in with my coachees/adoptees. Have any questions/concerns/coaching aspirations? Feel free to email me if you like. Cheers and happy weekend, Fang Aili talk 20:56, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Congratulations to our 225 new members |
The newsletter is back! Many things have gone on during the past few months, but many things have not. While the assessment drive helped revitalize the assessment department of the project, many other departments have received no attention. Most notably: peer review and our "workgroups". A day long IRC meeting has been planned for October 13th, with the major focus being which areas of the project are "dead", what should our goals be as a project, and how to "revive" the dead areas of our project. Contribute to the discussion on the the new channel (see below) We decided to deliver this newsletter to all project members this month but only those with their names down here will get it delivered in the future. This is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned or post news on the next issue's talk page
Lastly, a new WikiProject Biography channel has been set up on the freenode network: Our thanks to Phoenix 15 for setting it up.
