[edit] beyond top three
Russian language version of this article is the only one, I think, which provides order of finish beyond the first three. This proves to be an obviously superior way to represent results in the encyclopedia, in light of Marion Jones pending disqualification and resequencing of finishes in 5 competitions. I think that the English Wikipedia should adopt this method, if only to allow ascertaining medal finishes after future revelations in doping scandals. --Mareklug talk 23:39, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- The preferred article style here (as discussed on Wikipedia:WikiProject Olympics) is to provide complete event results, not just for the final race (top 8) as ru.wiki shows. This work is partially complete for 2000 (see Athletics at the 2000 Summer Olympics - Men's 100 metres, linked from the main medal summary table on this page, for one example) but has not been started for any of Jones' individual events. The two relay events have results pages created, so that is a start. Andrwsc 00:29, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Marion Jones
Sorry Guys, not sure what went awry with the table- can you please help fix it, i was trying to update in light of jones relinquishing her medals. Zepher25 14:07, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- Please leave the tables alone until the IOC formally redistributes the medals. For example, it is still uncertain whether or not the entire relay teams will have to forfeit their medals, or just Jones herself. Until we know exactly what the IOC intends to do, and adjustments here are speculation only. Andrwsc 14:56, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

- The medals table should have footnotes regarding the changes due to post Olympics DQ 70.51.9.226 (talk) 05:26, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] original results
This page should also have the results as of the end of the Olympics, as a contrast to the results post revokations, including the medals table. 70.51.9.226 (talk) 05:26, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] changes april 08
