Saying that Atherstone has one seat in the House of Commons is not strictly correct as the seat actually covers a much wider area than the town. The constituency is officially called North Warwickshire, and Atherstone is only one of several settlements to be represented under this banner. Also, since the 2007 local election, the borough of North Warwickshire is now entirely under Conservative controll. Therefore, I am going to update this information.
