[edit] References needed for former Pipe Band article

This article was tagged as non-notable, but I suspect that it is notable. (how many high schools have pipe bands? Are they common?) Since the article is entirely unsourced, however, it's hard to tell just how notable this band is. I found one minor reference from the Albany Democrat-Herald, but it needs more. Has the band ever been written up in a statewide or national (or international) publication? Surely someone in Athena has press clippings... Katr67 14:54, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

The above discussion does not preclude the continued presence of the {{notability}} tag. This article should be merged to the high school article when one is created. Katr67 (talk) 23:59, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] State of article since merger

The above message refers to the the Weston McEwen Pipe Band article, which I merged to a new school district/high school article. The combined school district, high school and pipe band article should make the subject notable enough. I believe school districts are considered inherently notable, and high schools usually are, and if deemed not notable, they are merged with their school district article. See: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Common outcomes#Education. It is unlikely matters will be improved by merging this article with Athena, Oregon or Umatilla County, Oregon, which are the only solutions I can come up with. I realize the article is still a mess and that it needs more refs. See also: List of school districts in Oregon. Katr67 (talk) 20:25, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Yep, you're right. Tag removed. • Freechild'sup? 20:36, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
