Athens-Ben Epps Airport (IATA: AHN, ICAO: KAHN, FAA LID: AHN) is a public airport located three miles (5 km) east of the central business district (CBD) of Athens, a city in Clarke County, Georgia, USA. The airport covers 425 acres (172 ha) and has two runways. It is mostly used for general aviation.
Until May 23, 2008, the airport was served by twice-daily flights to Charlotte on Air Midwest operating as US Airways Express.[1]
Service to Atlanta on Pacific Wings was approved by the Department of Transportation on May 30, 2008, with the beginning date still unknown.[2]
The airport is named after Ben T. Epps Sr., the first aviator in the state of Georgia, who opened the airport in 1917.
