Ath-Thawrah

Ath Thawrah (Arabic: الثورة) is a Syrian city, in Ar-Raqqah Governorate, and is located about 55km west of its capital city Ar-Raqqah. The city was built on the Euphrates river, near the Tabaqah dam, and the name "Ath-Thawrah" literally means "the revolution", in reference to the March 8th revolution. The city has a population of 65,000.
