The Athénée de Luxembourg (English: Luxembourg Athenaeum), also known as Stater Kolléisch or just De Kolléisch,[1] is a high school in Luxembourg City, in southern Luxembourg.
The school was founded as the 'Athénée Royal' in 1817,[1] although the preceding school had been founded as a Jesuit college in 1603.[1]
Since 1970, the school has been located in Hollerich, in the south-west of the city.[1][2] Since the Athénée moved to Hollerich, other schools have moved to the site, creating Campus Geesseknäppchen, just to the north of the terminus of the A4 motorway. Until 1970, it had been located in the city Athenaeum (hence the name), now the site of the National Library, in Ville Haute.[1]
