The Arab Student Organization, more commonly known as the ASA, is a recently new organization at Kent State University. Started by president Shahd Haidar in 2007, this organization has proven to be extremely beneficial towards the students at Kent State University. The goals of this organization are to promote the education of the Arabic culture, to spread camraderie around the campus, and also, to provide a branch to network out to a vast amount of other cultural groups.

The ASA has provided many events. Among these are food tasting sessions and cultural awareness programs. Also, the ASA has engaged with other cultural networks. On Wednesday November 28, 2007, the ASA hosted the first ever Indian Student Organization VS the Arab Student Association soccer game. The even spurred much interest throughout the campus and proved to be a great success. Also, the ASA has been involved with KSU's United Way.
