So sorry! I didn't know this was not ok -- I saw other manufacturers posting the same information about their companies and figured that providing a link was acceptable. I won't post any more links. -ATAGOusa
Thanks:) It's against Wiki policy to advertise in an article, or to add links that purely promote some external entity (reference material good, spam bad). So if you see other companies doing it, feel free to undo it. Or if you don't feel comfortable doing so or it becomes an edit/unedit/reedit war, feel free to ask for help despamming. It'd be great to have more scientific info added to the articles, especially by folks who actually know about and use the techniques. WP:EL teaches that in general, it's better to include actual written information (and cite an external resource as its source) than to include "more info at this external website" links. Well, I added a link to our new "Bits of Knowledge" section, which explains the principles of analog and digital refractometers. Our products are mentioned, but it actually does not link back to the main website. I've deleted a couple other manufacturers who are linking right to their products, and don't really have a section dedicated to the principles/mechanics/applications (otherwise, I would have linked to that page on their site). - ATAGOusa
[edit] License tagging for Image:Abberefractometers.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Abberefractometers.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:04, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
