Atagi Nobuyasu

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Atagi Nobuyasu (安宅信康? 1549 - 1578) was the son of the reputable retainer and younger brother of Miyoshi Chokei--Atagi Fuyuyasu--succeeding in his father's will to enforce order under the Miyoshi throughout the late Sengoku Period of Feudal Japan. As the Miyoshi were eventually devoured by the neighboring Chosokabe Motochika, Nobuyasu followed by becoming a junior retainer under Oda Nobunaga in the 1570's, primarily conflicting against the naval fleets of Mori, throughout his service. One of these such conflicts being the Battle of Kizuwaguchi of 1577--in which Nobuyasu showed relatively moderate ability--and then followed by serving in the Second Battle of Kizuwaguchi in 1578, where he was conjectively killed by soldiers under the Mori -- considering that he was still of young age during this present time.
