[edit] Recurring elements of the series introduced
- The trio of Miyu's schoolmates, which will become vital to the plot: the cute red-haired Chisato, the boyish Yukari and the bookworm Hisae.
- Miyu's weirdness, wearing a school uniform in every social occasion, dropping it for her kimono only during the Shinma fights.
- The charms which Chisato buys for her and Miyu as token of friendship, which will have great importance to the plot later.
- The ability of Miyu to sense the presence of a Shinma, even in human disguise.
- The contempt for humans shown by the Shinma-hunter trio and the detached point of view of Larva and Shiina regarding Miyu's involvement with the human world.
- The general knowledge by the Shinma that Larva used to be one of them, a theme which will be progressively revealed and expanded during the series.
