"At Seventeen" is a 1975 song by Janis Ian, appearing on Between the Lines, her seventh studio album.
"At Seventeen" peaked at #1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart and at #3 on the Pop Singles chart in 1975[1]. It also won a Grammy award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 1976[2] and was nominated for "Record of the Year" and "Song of the Year".
On October 11, 1975 Janis Ian performed "At Seventeen", along with "In the Winter", as a musical guest on the first episode of Saturday Night Live.[3]
The song, as performed by Tara MacLean[4] is used in the soundtrack of the 1999 film Teaching Mrs. Tingle.[5]
