The AT&T Building Addition stands at 444 Michigan Avenue in downtown Detroit, Michigan, and occupies the building block bordered by 1st Street, Cass Avenue, State Street, and Michigan Avenue. it was constructed in 1973 and finished the following year. The high-rise office building stands at 17 stories, and is used primarily as office space, telecommunications, as a hotel, and is owned by communications giant AT&T. The building was designed using the modern architectural style, and incorporates a great deal of granite into its materials. It is a part of the AT&T Michigan Headquarters. It was designed by the architecture firm Smith Hinchman & Grylls, who also designed several other Detroit, Michigan office buildings.
