The Asuwa River (足羽川 Asuwagawa?) is a river in Fukui Prefecture of Japan. It stretches 61.7 km from Mount Kanmuri (冠山 Kanmuriyama?) in Ikeda town to the Hino River and the Kuzuryu River.

Among Asuwa levees, about 600 cherry trees are planted in the neighborhood of the Fukui-city center. A lot of cherry trees are lighted up every year for periods in full blossom of the middle from the beginning of April, and so many tourists and people enjoying the blossoms come on the road in levee. The place where a cherry tree else is famous has Maruoka Castle and Ichijōdani Asakura Family Historic Ruins in Fukui prefecture.
