The Asurada GSX (アスラーダGSX) is a fictional race car driven by Sugo Asurada driver Hayato Kazami in the anime series Future GPX Cyber Formula.
[edit] History
Shipped to Japan from the United Kingdom prior to the 2015 season, it was registered to Hayato Kazami on accident when he tried to flee a group of mercenaries attempting to steal the machine and its cyber system. Hayato Kazami was then forced to use the machine the following day in qualifying for the All Japan Cyber Formula Championship preliminary. After passing both that, and the All Japan Championship, the car and its young driver made its debut on the world stage at the Grand Canyon in the deserts of the American south west.
Its professional career was short, but gave and important foundation to its young driver in further races in Peru and Brazil. These races each saw and improved version of the base model focusing on off-track performance for Peru, a rally race, and on overall speed on the high speed highway course in Brazil. However the car suffered a serious crash during practice for the Grand Prix of Canada sending its driver to the hospital and itself to the repair shop. It was replaced by the Super Asurada 01 and only appeared again in the final round when the Super Asurada was not ready. Its final race was a memorable one where, while failing to capture the lead, it stayed within striking distance in a 6 hour endurance race allowing Hayato Kazami to seize victory by switching to the superior Super Asurada 01B for the final third of the race.
[edit] Design
Designed by the late Hiroyuki Kazami, the Asurada GSX is the first car to feature the revolutionary Asurada Super Neruo Computer as the primary cyber system. The car itself is nothing noteworthy utilizing all pre-existing technology within its chassis. It is a simple GT style body with four-wheel drive and a Cyber-cycle V10 hydrogen engine and a standard booster system for increased straight line speed along with movable wings and effect fans to improve performance.
