'Foremost' is an opinion, as far as can be determined factually ApJ is second to Annual Review of Astronomy and Astrophysics in terms of 'impact factor'. While the Supplement is the top journal in terms of 'immediacy', the main journal comes behind the Astronomical Journal by this measure (data from ISI Journal Citation Reports 2003).
