Astrodoras asterifrons is the only species in the genus Astrodoras of the catfish (order Siluriformes) family Doradidae.[1] This species originates from the Amazon River basin and reaches a length of about 8 centimetres (3 in).[2] This genus is the type genus of the subfamily Astrodoradinae.[3]
