The Astra Model 900 is one of many Spanish copies of the German Mauser C96, it shares the caliber, ammunition storage capacity, and the holster type.

[edit] Alternative machine pistols
The Basque built Astra-Unceta y Cia SA Astra 901 is a compact machine pistol. It has a magazine capacity of 10 cartridges of 7.63x25mm Mauser. It has a low ammunition capacity for a machine pistol. The next model, the Astra 902, was provided with a fixed magazine of 20 cartridges and with a lengthened gun. With the appearance of removable magazine on Mauser M711, the firm offered it 903. Astra added to it a speed reducer of rate of shooting making it possible to control, to a certain extent, the weapon during the shooting by gust thus creating the 904.
The production of Astra was completed with the design of Model F (a Model 904 in 9mm Largo), model are equivalent to Mauser M712 Schnellfeuer, considered by some experts as superior with the Mauser model. To be complete, let us announce the anecdotic production of approximately model E who will put a final term at the production.

- Astra 900: 21,000 weapons from 1927 to 1941 on behalf of China, Latin America, of Spanish republicans and the Wehrmacht (1,050 delivered in 1943).
- Astra 901: 1655 weapons in 1928 destinies mainly at the Chinese warlords.
- Astra 902: 7075 weapons of 1928 to 1933. Even destination that 901 and Wehrmacht]] (delivery in 1943)
- Astra 903: 3082 weapons of 1932 to 1934. Same users as the 902.
- Astra 904: 9 weapons in 1934.
- Astra F: 1126 weapons in 1936. Lawful in Guardia Civil during Spanish civil war.
- Astra E: 548 weapons assembled between 1949, 1951 and 1961 starting from stored parts. Reserved for export to Egypt, India, Iraq and Pakistan.
