Astor Radio Corporation is an Australian radio manufacturer that began operating in 1926. Astor made radio receivers in Victoria. Astor was progressive by offering radios in varying colours compared to other companies that offered the standard wood stains. Astor was in conflict with Walt Disney for naming one of their radios the Mickey Mouse. Astor was forced by legal action to stop using the Mickey Mouse logo. Astor bought its competition Eclipse and Essanay. However, Astor was bought itself by Pye Electronics in the 1960s, who was bought themselves by the giant Phillips company.
