Asthal, or Asthall, is a village and civil parish in the West Oxfordshire district of Oxfordshire, England, about six miles west of Witney. The village is on the River Windrush, and had a population of 282 according to the 2001 census.

Notable historic residents of Asthall include the Mitford family, known for their six dynamic daughters, four of which wrote best-selling books. Nancy was a successful novelist whose work included "Love in a Cold Climate"; Unity was a close friend of Hitler; Diana married Oswald Mosley, the head of British Fascism; and Jessica was a committed communist, who went on to do important civil rights work in the United States, and wrote The American Way of Death, an exposé of the American funeral industry.
