The ASTD (American Society for Training and Development) is the world's largest association for professionals in the learning and training field. It was founded in 1944 and now has around 70,000 members from more than 100 countries.
The ASTD currently runs more than 19 global networks with suborganizations in Asia, South America and Europe.

ASTD publishes dozens of books, magazines, newsletters, Webpages, and research reports. Content publishing is one of ASTD’s broadest operations and encompasses the creation and distribution of books, magazines, newsletters, Web pages, and special reports. Through its content, ASTD leads the field in advancing new concepts, highlighting proven practices, and raising awareness of the value of learning and performance.
