[edit] History
Its foundation in mid 1960s was initiated to provide single and twin-bedded full board accommodation for about 350 clinical students of the Faculty of Medicine. Hence, it was known as Clinical Students Hostels. There were then two blocks, one each for male and female students.
With the construction of four more blocks in the early 1980s, two blocks each for male and female students, the college could offer accommodation to another 200 students. The intake was extended to non-clinical medical and students from Faculty of Dentistry. By mid 1990s, there were two more blocks built to cater more medical and dental students. Today, the college has about 700 medical and dental students and also has provided few fully furnished flats to accommodate postgraduates students or family group of students at the Faculty of Medicine or University Malaya Medical Centre.
