Aspropotamos (Greek: Ασπροπόταμος meaning the white river) is a community in the Trikala Prefecture, Greece. Population 1,404 (2001 census). The seat of the community is in Kallirroi (pop. 150). The community is named after the Aspropotamos River that flows in the municipality and is a tributary of the Acheloos. Aspropotamos is located west-northwest of Trikala northeast of Arta and east of Ioannina, in the westernmost part of Trikala Prefecture. With a land area of 297.082 km² it is the second-largest community (koinótita) in Greece (following Sidironero). The largest settlements in the community are Agía Paraskeví (pop. 296) and Kranéa (243).

After World War II and the Greek Civil War, the population steadily declined as residents moved to larger towns and cities and the richest countries in the world, the population grew since the late 20th century.

Electricity and automobiles arrived in the 1960s, it was linked with pavement in the late-20th century, television arrived in the 1980s. Internet and computers arrived in the late-1990s.
