Aspley State High School is a secondary school situated in Brisbane's northern suburbs.

Aspley High holds annual sporting carnivals including Swimming, Athletics (Track and Field) and Cross Country. The top individual performances are selected to represent the school at the Regional Carnivals, to compete for positions at the State Carnivals.

Several outside companies hire School Venues as well including The Queensland Youth Music Awards, Dance Schools, Sporting Clubs and Church Groups. Aspley High also have a venue deal with the Aspley Rugby League Club who have paid for Oval Lighting. A fully equipped gym is also hired out by the Leagues Club, as well as being used by School Students.
Aspley High was also the home of the 2006 AND 2007 Brisbane North Regional Opti-MINDS event.

Aspley High releases a weekly newsletter to school members allowing current and recent news to be distributed. In December an annual Yearbook named Toora is published. Toora is Aspley's longest running publication first being released in the school's inaugural year.

[edit] School Trip
Aspley High has had a long history in School Holiday Excursions for Students. The current Trip is the Canberra-Sydney/Outback-Reef Trips. The trips currently run in the first week of the July School Holidays and each year rotates between destinations.
[edit] Canberra Trip
Canberra Trip currently runs in the July School Holidays and includes the destinations of the Australian War Memorial, National Carillon, Australian Institute of Sport,Questacon, Australian Federal Parliament House and many more. Day Trips to Perisher Blue, Dubbo Zoo and Sydney make up the remainder of the trip. Many eventful happenings occur on this trip such as Mr Venables (event organiser) falling down and breaking his arm.
The 2007 Canberra Trip had a website set up for daily updates and messages to be passed from parents and students of the trip.
Canberra Trip has run in 1998 - 2003, 2005 and 2007. Originally run in September the trip was moved to July to allow the students to fully experience the winter Snow in the Snowy Mountains.. The next Scheduled Canberra Trip is 2009.
[edit] Outback-Reef Trip
The Outback Reef Tip was created as an alternate excursion after the McMahon-Issacs Controversy of 2002. Due to a drop in student population, the 2004 Canberra Trip was changed to the Outback-Reef Trip and opened up to Grade 9 Students. The Outback Reef Trip now runs every second year allowing students to do both Outback and Canberra Trips. Outback Reef visits Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame, Qantas Founders Outback Museum several outback towns and a boat tour of the Great Barrier Reef
Outback-Reef has run in 2004 and 2006. The Next Scheduled trip starts on June 29 2008.
