Aspire is the name of a work of art, currently being constructed on the Jubilee Campus of the University of Nottingham, in Nottingham, England. It will be a 60-metre tall, red and orange steel sculpture, which, when complete, will be the largest free standing public work of art in Britain[1], larger than Nelson's Column, The Angel of the North and The Statue of Liberty [2]. Designed by Ken Shuttleworth and MAKE Architects[3], it's height will be comprised of 8m concrete foundation and 52m red and orange steel, in total weighing 854 tonnes, and is costing £800,000[4], which was donated by an anonymous benefactor[5]. The name Aspire was chosen by the students of the university in an online ballot.[6]
