The Asociación Interétnica de Desarrollo de la Selva AIDESEP (Interethnic Association for the Rainforest Development) was created as a proof of the adaptation ability of native communities to the western civilization.
The organizations that formed it are:
- Consejo Aguaruna-Huambisa (CAH) (Aguaruna-Huambisa Council) from the Amazonas departament.
- Asociación de Comunidades Asháninkas del valle de Pichis (Association of Asháninkas' Communities of Pichis Valley) It is the most numerous ethnic group of the country, which acronym is ACONAP and it mainly belongs to the department of Pasco.
- Federación de Comunidades Nativas del Ucayali (FECONAU) (Federation of the Native Communities from the department of Ucayali)
- Federación Nativa de Madre de Dios (FENAMAD) (Native Federation of the department of Madre de Dios)
Its representatives work actively for improving the native settlers of the Amazon's conditions of health, education, housing, organization, etc.
