Asociación Escuelas Lincoln is an international school located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As the school is relatively small in size, there is a tight-knit community atmosphere in which most students and teachers know each other very well.

[edit] Curriculum
The curriculum is based on American and International School systems and offers both the International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement.
[edit] Environment
The school is generally an enlightening and enriching environment where students can live long and prosper. Although very ascetically pleasing, the school's new gym leaks during rain. This has led to the cancellation of basketball practice on some occasions.
[edit] Student Life
A typical high school student at Lincoln spends most of their breaks outside the kiosk during the summer and warm months. During the winter months, the students spend their time in the lobby due to the cold weather. Just recently the senior class had received their senior sweaters to combat this cold weather.
Although this is a generalization, the student locations categorized by class are as follows:
- Senior: Most seniors are either outside in the kiosco area. The lobby used to be a large gathering area for many seniors to relax and socialize without the annoyance of bad weather, but "security reasons" prompted the iron fist to remove the tables once used by the seniors. This forced many to find other social gathering points.
- Junior: Like seniors, juniors are outside in the kiosco area socializing with other upper class-men.
- Sophomore: The sophomores have the most diverse hang-out areas, ranging from the kiosco, to the library. Little research has been done on their movement patterns.
- Freshmen: Most freshmen reside in the hallways and inside the building, awaiting there turn to become upper class-men and gain the courage to venture outside.
[edit] Kiosco Inflation
Due to the sluggish global economy and consequently the slowing of the Argentine economy, prices at the kiosco, a major student beverage and snack vendor, have often tripledor even quadrupled over the course of a few months. The price of a coke has risen from 1.60 to 3.00 Pesos from August 2007.
[edit] Criticisms
The school's mascot is the Condor as with many other International Schools in South America. Although there is a signigificant athletic program at the school which participates in the Southern Cone Athletic Conference, there is little school spirit, due to the school's small size. There have been many prep-rallies to see the school's varsity teams off, but these have often resulted in socially awkward clapping and random attempts at hand gestures. The school is a member of SCAC (South Central Athletic Conference) in which the school takes part in three different sports. These three are Football, Basketball and Volleyball.
Football: for all the English, or also soccer, is the main sport of the school where almost all school spirit (which isn't saying much) is put into rooting the players on.
Basketball: this is clearly the girls event, with a very dominant female coach, the girls basketball team has practically always come out on top.
Volleyball: this is clearly the girls event, the girls volleyball team has practically always come out on top.
From the beginning of the school year of 2007 - 2008, the senior privilege and student privilege system has been diminished greatly. Although some privileges such as the senior line at the snack booth have remained in place, other very important privileges such as the ability to move to the front of the lunch line has been eliminated. Additionally, strict controls have been put on student movement, hall resting places, backpack placement and the announcements over the PA system have been restricted for "security reasons".
Senior skip day and the senior prank are also endorsed and strictly monitored by the school. Deviation otherwise is punishable.
[edit] Club Procedures
Of late, the voting procedures in various organizations including but not limited to Student Council have been severely altered. The results of these changes will be seen on Friday, May 30th when Student Council election results are announced.
Also, clubs such as Community Service have been forced to change their Chaco selections criteria after a successful 18 years for no apparent reason. Selections are now based upon in-depth interviews, the ability to touch one's toes, and drug screening. These skills should greatly benefit the Chaqueno people.
[edit] Detention
There has been a recent spike in the amounts of detentions. Stricter policies on tardiness, bookbag placement, and just about everything else have been instilated. The Board of Directors is, in fact, considering extending school days each Friday to 4:45 pm in light of the amount of students receiving punishment. Seniors, particularly, have been at the root of this new policy. E-mails to parents have allegedly been sent out. Laments one student, "At this rate, I don't even begin my weekend until Saturday."
