Aslam Farshori

Aslam Farshori (b.8 July 1951) Is one of India's leading Radio and TV personality. He is the president of the fine arts academy of Andhra Pradesh, He was also the Head of ETV Urdu channel which is the only Indian television channel with 100% Urdu content. Aslam Farshori is a very popular name in Urdu Media and a household name in Hyderabad India due to his popularity as the most famous radio show host in the late 70's for "Choti Choti Baatein" and "Mirzaji Ka Deewankhana" in the 90's. These shows had more ratings then most of the TV shows in those days. Aslam Farshori is also one of the lead compere for all India Mushairas and has also compered international Mushairas. He has been the host for Mushairas with big names like Ahmed Faraz, Kaifi Azmi, Bashir Badr, Nawaaz Deobandi, Nida Fazli and many other popular urdu poets. Born to a family of Aristocrats Aslam Farshori's interest in Urdu started at a very early age as he remembers watching and listening to some of the most notable urdu poets in his Uncle "Allama Hairat Budauni's" House where legendary poets like Josh Malihabadi, Fani Budauni,Ale ahmed Saroor and many other notable poets used to often visit.

Aslam Farshori started his career as a casual announcer with All India Radio (Hyderabad) and when he retired as a Director he was considered by many as the voice of All India Radio. He has also worked with Shyam Benegal in his movies as an assistant director and has acted in several of his movies including Mandi, Ankur, Hari Bhari and many more. Early in his career he assisted Subhash Ghai, B.R Chopra and has worked with top writers like Shama Zaidi, M.S.Sathyu, Ali Sardar Jaffery, Dilip Kumar and many such notable writers and Directors.
Aslam Farshori also has a lot of contribution towards theater and has directed a lot of stage shows. The Deccan Chronicle once quoted him as the "Uncrowned king of Hyderabadi Media" due to his popularity in Hyderabad.
He had spearheaded the ETV Urdu satellite channel's launch as a Chief Producer.
He is now Director for IKI London group to strengthen their Media and event management hand.

Aslam Farshori is of North Indian descent ( Budaun U.P.). He attended Anwar ul Uloom college Hyderabad Osmania University,India,He is Married to Shabina Farshori a famous Urdu writer herself, They have four children,Amaan Farshori,Faraaz Farshori,Salman Farshori and Nabeela Farshori.
