[edit] Statement of purpose

This article was created to provide expanded discussion of the contributions of Asian Americans in arts and entertainment fields. The content in the main article continually expanded into lists of people, while not allowing for more extended discussion of "less notable" people such as some of the American Idol contestants and finalists, for example. In the main article Asian American, the style has been to avoid mentioning individuals' ethnic groups, (1) to keep the copy concise, and (2) because the article is about Asian Americans and not about specific ethnic groups. There are situations in which discussing the specific ethnic group is appropriate, but the style has been to make these the exception, and to provide discussion and justification on the Talk page when necessary. Obviously, editors on this page can create a new consensus, but it would be best to propagate a common consensus across the WikiProject Asian Americans. --Ishu 20:11, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hmmm

It's interesting how on Lucy Liu's article on here states that "she is considered the most well-known and visible Asian American in the media today.", however there is no mention of her on here or on the main Asian American article. I'm not saying that she should be included, I'm simply pointing it out.

[edit] Integrate/Incorporate material from Asian American article

This should have as much information as is in the main article; needs to be consistent. It's very light in terms of historical contributions of people in the arts, including literature and music.--Parkwells (talk) 22:47, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
