Asim Akhter

Syed Asim Akhter (born February 13, 1983) in Karachi, Pakistan, is a Pakistani television director and producer. Asim is recently working for Geo Television Network. Asim has been involved in many TV serials and films, notably Aag Shorts, a TV show promoting new filmmakers and film students all over Pakistan.

Asim was born to Syed Shams-ul-Waheed, a water supply company (Mehran Associates) owner and Shaista Shams, a housewife. Eldest of his two sisters Aisha Syeda & Urooj Syeda and a brother Adeem Syed, attended Hamdard Public School, from where he did his matriculation secured 82 % marks. Soon after his graduation from Dehli Government College in Pre- Engineering his interests in films and entertainment forced him to towards the Showbiz.

In 2005 after struggle of several months he was selected to work as an outsource production assistant for a magazine show High Voltage for Geo USA/ UK. During his freelance working experience, Asim’s passion took him to another level and he got hired as a Production Coordinator. Asim got promoted to Associate Producer in October, 2006 and continued his work in same manner. Till Dec 2007, Asim got his hands full of several TV Shows including, Aag Shorts, Fuse, Boxer, Geo Phir Se, High Voltage, Rickshaw Diaries. Asim also got a chance to produce, direct, write and act for several short films including Climax, Roughcut, Maine Quaid Ko Daikha, 6 Feet and Blank.
