[edit] Controversy
On 17th June 2003, Asian Sound Radio was fined £3,000 by The Radio Authority for breaking rule 92(2)(a) of the Broadcasting Act 1990 (and the Authority's Advertising and Sponsorship Code), which prohibits "an advertisement being broadcast which is directed towards a political end", and section 90(3)(b) of the Broadcasting Act 1990 (and of the Authority's News and Current Affairs Code), which requires that "undue prominence is not given by a local licensee in its programmes to the views and opinions of particular persons or bodies on political matters" [2].
In April 2007, Asian Sound Radio's website along with that of Sunrise Radio was strongly criticized for displaying out of date information and rarely being updated [3].
