The AsiaWorld-Expo is one of the two major convention and exhibition facilities in Hong Kong along with Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. AsiaWorld-Expo is located in the northeast corner of Chek Lap Kok island, Hong Kong, where the Hong Kong International Airport is located. It is operated by AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited and was opened on 21 December 2005 by Donald Tsang, Chief Executive of Hong Kong.

At a construction cost of HK$2.35 billion, AsiaWorld-Expo offers over 70,000 square metres of rentable space, including 10 exhibition halls and the 13,500 seat AsiaWorld-Arena for exhibitions, conventions, concerts, sports and entertainment events.

  • A Citywide Christmas Celebration (24 December 2005), hosted by Christian organisation City Renewal. It was the first large scale event held at AsiaWorld-Expo. Deputy CEO of AsiaWorld-Expo Allen Ha offered free venue space for the host organisation. This event was sponsored by the MTR Corporation, and Airport Express was designated the official railway of the event.
