[edit] Leopard Gecko
As clearly stated in the discussion page I cleaned up the links as there were a ton and liked to that site which has Info on the leopard gecko species and also links to all those sites on that page . I checked the linkage guidelines and It is in agreement with my proposition .Pagosapunk (talk) 21:59, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, that is why I didn't restore the links you deleted, however your forum is also not appropriate so I unlinked it as well. If you think a link to your forum should be on that page or any other, you should bring the subject up on the article's talk page. Thank you for your note and for your understanding. —Ashanda (talk) 22:01, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
First of all it is not my forum I have just visited it many times . why is it unappropiate ? I agree I may have mass promoted it at first but the forum does support leopard gecko,Tokay gecko and creasted gecko species . There are many well educated individuals there and the site links to many sites on those topics . PLease allow the link to at least stay in those 3 catigories as It was already in the tokay one for quite some time (probably a year or more) and was not removed until you did today . Pagosapunk (talk) 22:05, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- Bring up the subject on the articles' talk pages. If the regular editors of the articles think the link is appropriate, then of course it may be kept. —Ashanda (talk) 22:07, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
what was your reson in removing the tokay gecko link ? Its has been there for a very long time —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pagosapunk (talk • contribs) 22:11, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- The length of time it was there is irrelevant, web forums typically aren't allowed under the external links guideline. I'll say again, if you want to have the link on the page, bring the issue up to the regular editors of that page on its talk page. —Ashanda (talk) 22:15, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
why is http://www.gekkonids.info constantly linked on all gecko wiki pages ?Pagosapunk (talk) 22:19, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm no expert, but my guess would be because it's a non-commercial/no-ads site with plenty of information that wouldn't fit into one of our articles. If you think that it's inappropriate, you may bring that up on article talk pages too. —Ashanda (talk) 22:28, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Its the exact same as http://www.geckofile.top-site-list.com except it is commercial because it is sponsered by a very popular crested gecko breeder . He did the same thing I did with gecko File just with that site and no one deleated it . this doesn't seem fair to me . —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pagosapunk (talk • contribs) 22:31, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- If you bring it up on the articles' talk pages, and other people knowledgeable on the subject agree with you that the links are not appropriate, than I will be happy to assist in removing them. —Ashanda (talk) 22:34, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Like I told you most of us ony check wikipedia yearly to make sure its all the right info . and we link to forums like that to assist newcomers more . But after looking through artical history I came across this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/76.91.31.26 he did the same thing I did for the same reason I did (to help new herpers) please allow both of our links to stay on all the pages as they are helpful and if not then please remove all his like you did mine . Thank You Pagosapunk (talk) 22:40, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- Upon closer examination of that site, I see that it is a web-forum, even if it doesn't have banner ads and such. I'll be taking it down from the articles too. Thanks for pointing it out to me. —Ashanda (talk) 22:45, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
thank you . Can i ask you to please check on all gecko topics on wikipedia at least once a month to fix things like this ? expecially leopard, day, creasted and tokay gecko. It would be of great help as no one else does it and stuff like this happens all the time . Pagosapunk (talk) 22:49, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- The pages are all on my watchlist now, but I can't promise I'll catch stuff as I'm not on all the time. —Ashanda (talk) 22:53, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
I am going to be placing gecko file links on the tokay ,leopard and creasted gecko pages as no one has a problem with it . if a problem arises I will remove them until it can be solved . Pagosapunk (talk) 22:50, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- Fair enough, since you asked on the appropriate talk pages and no objections were raised. Happy editing! —Ashanda (talk) 01:59, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
also all geckos herpers dont spend much time on wikipedia . look at the last edits . they date back to 2007 . By giving a link to a forum it gives newcomers a page where newer info is and helps them better in the long run .Pagosapunk (talk) 22:21, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not going to debate the guidelines, thank you. —Ashanda (talk) 22:28, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Regarding Naijapals
Hi, thanks for your effort in improving my writeups, i noticed that you marked the Naijapals article for speedy deletion, may i know why it qualifies for this? i am not too versatile with using wikipedia as a matter of fact i just discovered this is the way to exchange messages with users. Will be glad to know more on the guidelines and what we can do to improve my articles, am a technology savvy African and am looking to create more articles (related to web 2.0 in African Nations) once i get from free time.
Hope to hear from you soon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Samuelodofin (talk • contribs) 22:59, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Search box position
Hi! Since you participated in the last discussion about where the "search" box should be located, I wanted to let you know that I've started another thread on the topic at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)#Move the search box directly beneath the puzzle globe. —Remember the dot (talk) 03:34, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you. I have added my thoughts to the discussion. —Ashanda (talk) 01:27, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

- Would you object if I got more editors into the discussion by posting a link at the Community bulletin board? —Ashanda (talk) 21:23, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
