It is said that when Hisahide laid siege to Yoshiteru's residence, he came out and planted several swords on the ground, and started killing. When a sword broke he simply picks up another one and continued... can anyone verify this?--Chinese renegade 07:39, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Matsui Sadonokami and Oodate Iwachiyomaru

The following was temporarily removed from the text because it lacks the verifiable support of an in-line citation. Without more, this could be merely spurious:

  • Yoshiteru, like other shoguns of the Muromachi period, practiced the tradition of shudo. He took a number of wakashu, among whom were Matsui Sadonokami and the young Oodate Iwachiyomaru. Sadonokami remained as the Shogun's lover until he reached adulthood, when he entered the service of the Hosokawa family, where his descendants can be found to the present day.
  • Together with him died his wakashu, Odachidono, age thirteen, who committed seppuku upon the death of his lord. The event was recorded by the Jesuit Father Luis Frois. Yoshiteru's mother is recorded to have died on the same day.

These bare statements, standing alone, are inadequate without more -- without some sort of better developed context and possible internal links to other articles in Wikipedia ...? --Tenmei (talk) 02:50, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] MILHIST B-class checklist

This article does have some grammatical issues, and the timeline in the middle needs to be worked into prose. Another major issue is it lacks an infobox, the code for which can be found here: {{Infobox Military Person}}. Sourcing is somewhat ok, but it needs to be improved before this article can pass B-class criteria. Parsecboy (talk) 20:48, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
