Talk:Ash Williams

[edit] Suicide\Killed
I changed "later killed herself" to "later killed by ash" because in the movie, Evil Dead II, she becomes possessed, Ash goes outside, she ambushes Ash, Ash lobs off her head with shovel.
[edit] Bad Ash\Evil Ash
Which should we use? Bad Ash comes from the line "I'm Bad Ash, and you're Good Ash!", though I'm not sure which is the oficial version, this is at least the only version mentioned in film. IMDb credits the chracter as Evil Ash, and Evil Ash wins a googlefight between the two by far [1] (hah, nice site).
- Both. The script (and the comics) refer to him as Bad Ash initially, and Evil Ash after his death and ressurection.--Sean Black | Talk 19:36, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Ash's Photo
The photo of Bruce as Ash is a still/promotional photo from the climax of "Evil Dead 2 - Dead By Dawn", and NOT from "Army of Darkness" as it was previously shown (I don't care what the file name says). This is the second time I've had to change it. --^o^CORVUS^o^ | Talk, 19 February 2006
- Care to provide references to your claims so we can all reach a consensus? ☢ Ҡi∊ff⌇↯ 00:46, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
- He's right, it's from ED 2 -Dead by Dawn, I second the notion. Firstly in the AoD Ash was taken prisoner the second he came through the portal, but at the end of Dead by Dawn he shot a Deadite harpy and was hailed as the 'deliverer' or whatever and held up his boomstick, also notice the background it was only used in Dead by dawn, not in Army of darkness. Need I provide a screenshot? ((Yes I know it's already been noted as being from EDII I just thought I'd provide some background information, this is not meant to be argumentitive)

- I don't recall Ash holding up the "boomstick" like that in either AoD or EDII (thought there's an illustration on the Necronomicon with that). After shooting the deadite, he just makes a weird face and people start to hail him, and later the camera just starts to move away from him showing the hailing crowd, and he's saying "No... Nooo... Nooooooo!", and this is where the movie ends. But judging from his appeareance, and the background, I agree this looks from EDII. ☢ Ҡi∊ff⌇↯ 01:52, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

- Yup. The background, and Bruce's size (He's a bit more stout in AoD) are dead giveaways. I appreciate the support folks! --^o^CORVUS^o^ | Talk, 20 February 2006

[edit] Is Ash Even Human Anymore?
This section seems like a pointless, fan speculation filled ramble to me. Not until reading this article did I ever think that Ash's indestructability or innate ability to fire a shotgun five times without reloading was anything more than Holly Wood magic, and my friends and family who have seen the movie have thought the same. If we decide to keep this section, it's at least going to need a better name.--Agent Aquamarine 04:42, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
My thoughts exactally. --Wieners 18:26, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- I thought it was a tongue in cheek reference to various technical goofs... =P SumGuy 05:10, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
I agree entirely; I'm going to be bold and remove that entire section. --Bletch 01:49, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Loosing his hand
I don't seem to be able to find a clear description of how he lost his hand, other than at the quotes section. I'm not familiar enough to add it to the biography, so maybe someone else should.
You're all wrong, really. I'm going to delete and change stuff.
[edit] Quotes
Corrected a lot of them to better match the audio from the movie (a lot of them were actually off somewhat, and others missing text). Hope nobody minds.--Kung Fu Man 14:11, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Source for middle initial and last name?
In the movies I only remember him being called "Ash" or "Ash, from housewares". --Random832(tc) 16:09, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- He was called Ashley by his sister, and his full name was given in a video game I believe--SUIT-n-tie 06:14, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image
Anyone mind if I change the main image?--SUIT-n-tie 06:14, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- No I have always think that this picture doesn't really fit the type of guy Ash is, maybe one that shows a more manic side of him is better, besides a closer photo is needed this one doesn't show any detail of his face -Dark Dragon Flame 06:26, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- What about this?--SUIT-n-tie 06:29, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- Perfect. -Dark Dragon Flame 06:34, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Duke Nukem
I removed the references to Duke Nukem being based on Ash. It is true that Ash and the Evil Dead films are referenced in Duke Nukem 3d but so are over twenty other movies/TV shows. I think any statement that Duke is based on Ash is wishful fan speculation. The Goat 20:02, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- I can't say whether they're truly connected or not of course, but the fan speculation most likely comes from the similarities of their One-Liners. I'm fairly sure I've heard Duke say some of Ash's lines, but I don't know for certain; it could even be the other way around for all I know. --Gero 05:21, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
-
- Yes Duke quotes Ash. Duke also quotes John Nada from "They Live" and characters from other movies as well. Who is to say Duke isn't based on John Nada. I think that would be a better fit seeing as how they both fight aliens. Like I said before the Duke Nukem games reference tons of movies and TV shows. the Evil Dead references are notable and already listed in the Duke Nukem 3d article. But there is little evidence that Duke is primarily based on Ash.The Goat 12:56, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Marvel Zombies Ash
Continuity error? The article currently states that Ashley G. Williams, native to the Marvel Zombies universe, was eaten shortly into the story. However, from reading the comic I thought that it was the original one-handed Ashley J. Williams who was thrown into Earth-2149 and interacted with a few heroes before being killed in front of his Earth-2149 counterpart. I can verify this, and after I do I'll make the appropriate changes if nobody else does. -Mewarmo990 (talk) 08:26, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- That's actually not a continuity error at all. Look at the Ash having his brain munched on: he has both his hands. So did the Ash native to Earth-2149. They make a point about that even in I think the third comic, showing what he managed to do vs. the zombies before being distracted by his counterpart, and getting eaten due to the distraction by Howard the Duck.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 09:08, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
