International Cricket Captain 2006: Ashes Edition is a video game, the latest version of the ICC Series. It was purposely made for England's attempt to retain The Ashes in Australia. It is mainly a roster update from International Cricket Captain 2006 but also includes 6 ashes scenarios.

[edit] Game Modes
Like previous versions, International Cricket Captain 2006: Ashes Edition has 6 separate game modes.
[edit] Full Game
In the full game, the player chooses to take control of one of the 18 county sides and participates in the County Championship, National League, C&G Trophy and the Twenty20 Cup. After each season, players take part in the transfer market, recruiting new players for their side and if they had performed well enough in the previous season, they are offered the England captaincy. The game starts in the 2007 season and all the statistics are up to date from the end of the 2006 season.

This mode is exactly the same as the full game but instead of working for the England captaincy, the player gets it from the start.

In international only, the player chooses a national side and plays through their calendar of test matches and ODIs. Choices for the test playing nations are:
- Australia
- Bangladesh
- England
- India
- New Zealand
- Pakistan
- South Africa
- Sri Lanka
- West Indies
- Zimbabwe
[edit] The Ashes Series
In the ashes series, the player takes on 6 previous ashes series as either England and Australia to win the ashes using the actual squads. The series choices are:
- 1882 - The first Ashes to take place in Australia, a series drawn 2-2.
- 1958 - England travel to attempt to regain the Ashes but are thrashed in a controversial series.
- 1970 - Ray Illingworth's England side travelled to Australia and beat them 2-0.
- 1981 - Botham's Ashes.
- 2005 - England famously win the ashes for the first time in 18 years.
- 2006 - England travel to Australia to try and retain the Ashes.

In a 2 Player Series, a player can take on a friend in a series of either test matches or ODIs. You can also use county teams from a saved game.

In an Internet game, players can compete against others from around the world and play a 4 day or 1 day match with their county side.

The graphics remain unchanged and are still the same as many previous versions.

Some versions of the game come with an extra Official Ashes Fever DVD, that includes 2 hours of coverage on the 2005 Ashes Series.
