Ashuganj

Ashuganj (Bengali: আশুগঞ্জ) is a town in the Brahmanbaria District of Chittagong Division of Bangladesh in the Meghna River delta. Its altitude is 10 meters (36 feet).

The area has experienced severe power shortages but a revamped project is being planned and implemented under Japanese Debt Relief Grant Aid.[1]

Ashuganj is at the bank of the Meghna (river). The city if famous for it's power plant which generates huge amount of electricity for the country especially for the capital city. Zia Fartilzar Ltd is on the other side of Ashuganj. It produces chemical fertiizar for the country.
