Ashti is a small and beautiful village in the Sahyadris. It is mainly situated on the mountains, but at it's end towards the coast there are beautiful farms and the Jog River. It is a village full of greenery and lavish landscapes of high mountains.

It is situated in the Khed taluka of district Ratnagiri. It is located somewhere about 18.776 km's{exact} from Khed Bus Stand and it takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach there. It is located at latitude 17.638849N and longitude 73.384187E.

From Khed, buses are available to Ashti. The cost of ST bus tickets from Khed Bus stand to Ashti is -: Rs. 11/- (for Adults), Rs.6 (for childrens) and Rs.5(for Senior Citizens). Auto rickshaws are also available from Khed to Ashti.The Auto Rickshaws chargrge about Rs. 150/- to 200/- during daytime and 250/- to 350/- during night.

Its average elevation is about 10 meters at the end and about 50 meters at the top of village.

Soil is mountaineous RED Soil. Although thheir are very less amount of jungles, forests but a number of trees and cultivation fields are their.

People mostly are farmers but some work as fisherman. But nowadays, most work in the Gulf Countries like Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and one or two are even in Canada. Many people live in African countries too.

Ashti contains about 150 homes(approx.) of which most people are of Islamic communities. It has a population of about 2000 people.

There is an Urdu median school in the village for students up to STD. VIII. Their has also been a new English School which is up to STD V. For Secondary education, pupils go to Navjeevan High School(Nearest SSC School) in Shiv.

Ashti has a good communication sysytem. There are Landline facilities available of BSNL and Mobile Phone facilities of Airtel, Idea and BPL Mobile. New services of Vodafone India have been introduced on the network agreement with BPL MOBILE The Postal Code Address (PIN) is 415709 and Telephone Code from Mobile Phone is - "02356" and from Landline Phone is "952356".

Ashti has many places to visit. The most beautiful scenario is at the morning near the bus stand where fog spreads every well with really cool and pleasant climate. It also has a coast amongst the farms and it has a place where people can board small boats named "Nhyaycha Pal" for travelling and for going to Karji. The name is Ashti Pakti.

The climate is cool and pleasant in months from November to February. Summer season lasts from March to Mid-June. The climate is hottest(approx. 42°C). Rainy season lasts from June to September where rainfall is almost very high and some times affect transportation.
