Ashley Walker

Ashley Walker was a first class cricketer who played 9 games for Yorkshire County Cricket Club from 1863 to 1870, 10 for Cambridge University from 1864 to 1866 and one match for the North of England in 1870. He also played for the South Wales Cricket Club from 1875-1876.

A right handed batsman, he scored 531 first class runs at 15.61 with a top score of 65 against M.C.C. He took 18 wickets with his right arm slow roundarm bowling at just 16.05 with his best analysis 6 for 89 against Surrey CCC.

His cousin, Charles Walker, played one first class match for the Gentlemen of the North.

Born on June 22, 1844 in Bowling, Bradford, appropriately enough, he died on May 26, 1927 in Harrold, Bedfordshire.
