Ashley Road Primary School is a co-educational school located on Ashley Road in near-central Aberdeen, Scotland. It is owned and run by Aberdeen City Council, and is a feeder school of Aberdeen Grammar School.
It has a nursery section and a primary school section, running from primaries 1 through to 7.[1] The school was built of gray granite in Victorian times, and its design is very similar to that of another Aberdeen Grammar feeder school, Mile-End School, located in the Rosemount area.
[edit] Uniform
The uniform consists of a white polo shirt - the normal for Scottish primary schools - and a red sweatshirt with "ARS" arranged in an artistic fashion in black. Grey trousers and black shoes are also worn, however girls may wish to wear a grey skirt instead of trousers.[1]
[edit] House System
The use of a house system is in place at Ashley Road, however it is only used for sports days. The four houses are named after castles in Scotland, and are as follows:
- Balmoral
- Crathes
- Kildrummy
- Dunottar
Pupils are placed in a house upon entering the school, and younger siblings are normally placed in the same house.
