Ashley Blake

Ashley Blake is a BBC television presenter born (1971) and educated in the Lozells area of Birmingham, England. He has had a varied career "from driving and renting out cars and trucks to working with young offenders in the care of social services in Birmingham."[1] After spending almost three years as an air steward for Britannia airways,[2], and then a post-graduate degree in journalism, in 1998 he moved to London as a TV presenter. He joined the BBC in 2001[3] Since losing his mother to cancer in 2000, he has raised money for cancer research.[4]
In 2007, he was awarded an honorary doctorate by Staffordshire University for his contributions to television journalism.[5]
With his partner, Jessica Hayes, Ashley co-owns "The Place 2 B" Thai restaurant and bar[6] [7] situated on Chester Road in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham.
He has featured as a reporter for the consumer show Watchdog, on BBC One, and appeared on the spoof news show Broken News. He currently presents news programme BBC Midlands Today and the Midlands current affairs show Inside Out.
